If you’re living in or around the town of Warren, New Jersey, you may be wondering what there is for you and your family to do. Well, wonder no more! I’ve done a little research and come up with all kinds of fun activities for you to enjoy. Check these out!
Activity Number One: Mount Tammany
Listed as one of the best hikes in the state, Mount Tammany is the home of several different variations that you might enjoy depending on your family’s needs and desires. The rocky, steep 3.5-mile strenuous version may be somewhat short, but you’ll definitely break a sweat. An easier variation takes you to the same beautiful vista. Make sure to wear proper footwear and stay hydrated no matter what route you take.
Activity Number Two: Sahara Sam’s Oasis
This indoor water park also features outdoor water activities and is open year-round. Located in West Berlin, Sahara Sam’s makes a splash in the life of anyone looking for a little cool adventure. Admission may be purchased daily or with an annual pass. Rides and attractions include Cleopatra’s Cave – an indoor leisure pool – as well as The Congo Bongo, The Flow Rider, and Tim-Buk-Tu, an adventure playland. Fun for the whole family here.
Activity Number Three: Diggerland USA
Diggerland Construction Theme Park is for kids of all ages. The only requirement is that you appreciate just how cool diggers of all types can be! This West Berlin icon debuted five new rides this year, joining rides including Digger Derby, Elevation Station, Turnpike Tractors, Shake ‘n Roll, and Sky Shuttle. Rides vary from no height requirement to 42 inches tall.
Activity Number Four: Wagner Farm Arboretum
With a logo like “Preserving Warren for future generations”, you know this is a good one for the whole family. The Wagner Farm Arboretum, according to its mission statement, seeks to enrich, educate, and inspire the local community by increasing environmental awareness and recreational opportunities. With nearly 100 acres of beautiful open space, you can volunteer, attend a class or an event, or just take in the beautiful nature before your very eyes.
Activity Number Five: Lakota Wolf Preserve
Located in nearby Columbia, the Lakota Wolf Preserve is a tour-only facility open Tuesday through Sunday. The Wolf Watch tours are offered twice-daily beginning at 10 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Tours cost $15 for adults and $7 for kids up to 11 years old. Credit cards are not accepted, so make sure to hit the ATM before heading over or bring your checkbook. Confirmed appointments are necessary for weekday tours, but not for Saturday or Saturday tours. Schools, scout groups, and any groups with 10 or more visitors must have a confirmed appointment any time so that staff can confirm that there will be sufficient space in the observation area.
